In order to take into account sunspot activity as a whole, a novel weighting system has been developed for longitudinal sunspot distribution which depends on the area of spots. Differential rotation appears to affect the distribution considered, and it has been determined that the longitudinal distribution of spots, rather than being uniform, forms two maxima for two different longitudes. This result verifies one of the prominent assumptions of the star spot model, in which determinations for the distortion wave appeared in the light curves of RS CVn-type binaries.
