Galactic Disk: Space Density, Star Counts: Galactic Poles

Scientific paper

Based on a large number of parameterized four-component models of our Galaxy, and the least-squares calculations which were performed to investigate best-fitting models. The authors have analyzed star count data near the North Galactic Pole. The conclusions, the necessity of the existence of a thick disk-component in this direction and that its local normalization is about 0.04, are published.
