The Australia Telescope receivers require a complex, highly stable local oscillator system for signal tuning and for conversion to lower frequencies. All twelve-oscillators within each antenna must be precisely phaselocked to a central frequency reference oscillator up to 5 km away. One oscillator in each antenna must also be phase rotated at many thousands of degrees per second while maintaining a phase accuracy of 1 deg. This paper outlines the combination of techniques used to meet these requirements.
