In this note, we verify that the complex Kodaira dimension $\kappa^h$ equals
the symplectic Kodaira dimension $\kappa^s$ for smooth 4-manifolds with complex
and symplectic structures. We also calculate the Kodaira dimension for many
Lefschetz fibrations.
