Using a Fabry-Perot etalon in the classic focal reducer arrangement, photographic interferograms of the H II regions M42, M43 and NGC 1977, which are associated with the Orion Molecular Clouds OMC 1, 2, 3 have been taken. Several displaced interferograms have been overlapped and are used to derive complete velocity fields of different ions (Hα, [N II], [S II] and [0 III]) over the whole nebulae. Comparison with observations in other spectral domains yields the following: - The trend, already known for the centre of M42, is maintained over the whole nebula. - For Hα and [N II]. Whereas the ionized gas component of M 42 has a much smaller velocity than the molecular cloud, in NGC 1977 both have about the same velocities. This might be interpreted as gas flows streaming away from the molecular cloud tangentially to the line of sight in the case of NGC 1977 and towards the observer in M42. These observations can be explained by the champagne or blister model at an evolved stage.
