Scientific paper

Data on the reconstruction of the frequency dependence of the phase shift appearing during the reflection of internal acoustic waves from the outer layers of the sun are presented. An efficient method for seismically diagnosing the structure of the outer regions of the convective zone and the lower solar atmosphere is presented. A method for the direct computation of the frequency dependence of the phase shift based on a solar envelope model is described.
