The Compton interaction between the optical radiation of a Be star and the relativistic wind of a radio pulsar in a binary system is investigated. The first calculations of the periodic variations of the X-ray radiation due to the anisotropic radiation field of the optical star are presented. Under favorable conditions, the Compton X-ray radiation can vary by a factor of a few.
