The authors deduced the reddening of all the galactic WR stars in the catalogue of van der Hucht et al. for which there existed narrow-band photometry and low-resolution spectra from both IUE spectrographs. The observed colours have thus been transformed into intrinsic colours for comparison with previous estimates: the agreement is good, suggesting that, in general, the reddening of such stars is not peculiar. The dereddened energy distributions were approximated by Planck curves and UV colour temperatures derived. These generally fell in the region of 50,000 - 100,000K, giving a measure of support to some recent estimates of WR "core" temperatures.
