Four B,V light curves of AE Phe observed between 1970-1978 were analyzed with the Wilson-Devinney code. Consistent system parameters were obtained; only the temperature difference undergoes small variations. An obvious discrepancy between the photometrically and spectroscopically determined mass-ratio, which also occurs in other totally eclipsing W UMa systems of all spectral types in a systematic way, may be due to the influence of a global circulation pattern on the measured radial velocities.
