Narrow emission lines profiles of Seyfert galaxies are interpreted in the framework of Hill's model which states that the evolution of active galactic nuclei depends on the tidal breakup of stars. The theoretical line profile for a stellar remnant cloud is characterized by a logarithmic decrease of intensity in the core of the line and an exponential decrease in the wings of the line. The calculated profile agrees with observed profiles of forbidden lines in the spectra of Seyfert galaxies and with profiles of narrow cores of permitted lines in the spectra of type 1 Seyfert galaxies. Attention is given to the formation of subsystems of narrow and broad emission lines in the nuclei of Seyfert galaxies.
