We present an analysis of comet Hale-Bopp spectrum in the mid-infrared as obtained from the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) [1]. While it is possible to reproduce the spectrum by a combination of silicates and carbon rich spherical particles, a proper interpretation should take into account the particle non-sphericity, and some calculations of the absorption efficiency for non-spherical particles are provided in comparison with the observed spectrum.
