The need for astrophysical observations undisturbed by atmosphere has led to the development of a stabilized instrument platform called the Instrument Pointing System. The mechanical, electrical, and software configurations of this system are described, and load data are given. The participation of this platform on the Spacelab-2 mission is briefly reviewed.
