The gravitational influence of a single moonlet on the density field of planetary rings with eccentric orbits is investigated. It is found that the orbital eccentricity of a single embedded moonlet has an important influence on the form and the width of the narrow ringlet overlying the moonlet orbit. The application of the rings to the Encke division is addressed. Multiple moonlets in a common orbit are considered, calculating the gravitational influence of the moonlets on the radial distribution of the nearby ring material.
