Binary And Multiple Stars, Mass Loss And Stellar Winds
Scientific paper
We analyse the enhanced mass loss rate during periastron passage
considering several reasonable physical processes which may contribute
to that. Moreover, mass loss laws are proposed to explain orbital
variations in binary systems. We also show how they can effectively
describe the periastron effect.
