We have examined the numbers of radio sources found in Abell clusters of galaxies and how these numbers correlate with the density of the surrounding large scale environment. We have taken two approaches to this analysis. In the first approach we fit sources in images taken from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) postage stamp server, using the AIPS routine SAD. An absolute flux cut corresponding to 1.5 mJy beam-1 at the most distant cluster was applied and sources within a radius of .5 h-1 Mpc at the cluster were counted. The background correction is determined from fields chosen over the entire northern hemisphere. Using this method we find a direct correlation between radio source numbers and the density of the surrounding environment. The second approach uses the fitted source catalog from the NVSS. We use a local background subtraction, which is determined by the number of sources found in an annulus between 4 and Abell radii from the center of the cluster. Much like the first method, we impose an absolute flux limit corresponding to 2 mJy beam-1 at the most distant cluster examined. Finally, we have implemented a variable Abell radius within which we count member radio sources as opposed to the fixed 1.5 h-1 Mpc radius used in the first approach.
