The present consideration of the ISM's influence on the motion of stars with supersonic winds notes that this effect should cause a specific wind asymmetry even in the supersonic regime, together with a deceleration of the star, in contrast with classical calculations' assumption of a symmetric inner boundary condition. Under different upwind/downwind boundary conditions, the wind on the upwind side also differs from the downwind flow, so that a change of the outside boundary conditions will also cause the stellar wind to switch from one stationary outflow pattern to another.
