The magnetometer considered is to be used for a study of the rapidly changing component of the interplanetary magnetic field. Magnetic field fluctuations of higher frequency occur in connection with solar eruptions and local plasma instabilities. Attention is to be given to a determination of the temporal characteristics of these fluctuations, their amplitudes, and characteristic frequencies. Details concerning the experimental equipment used are discussed together with the principles of operation of the devices employed in the study.
