The problem of nonsteady hydrodynamic plasma flows in a chromosphere heated impulsively by a strong thermal flux or by a beam of accelerated particles is solved numerically. The electron and ion temperatures, density, and velocity of the hot flare plasma are calculated, allowing for all significant dissipative processes as well as for saturation of the thermal flux. In the case of thermal heating to anomalously high temperatures greater than or equal to 10 to the 8th K, the thermal bremsstrahlung spectrum in the hard X-ray range would conform closely to an exponential law.
