The propagation of the intense shock wave caused by the impact of a large-scale meteorite on the earth is analyzed numerically. The discreteness of the geophysical structure is modeled by inserting thin low-density channels in front of the shock wave. The interaction of the shock with these channels leads to the disintegration of its front and to the formation of conic precursors with an intense vortex motion inside them. The possibilities for using the proposed model in analyses of actual shock-wave processes in geophysical media are discussed.
