The concept of the hollow body solar sail is considered with particular reference to a project to send a radio telescope to the focus of the sun's gravitational lens for SETI purposes. A system of differential equations for the trajectory is established and solved numerically. The effect of considering the finite dimensions of the sun on the trajectory and temperature of the solar sail is examined. Different assumptions for controlling the sail orientation are compared. The possibility of reducing the mass of the sail by permitting a circumferential tension in the skin of the hollow body is also discussed.
