Initiatives for the construction of the first planetarium in Vojvodina, on the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad, between 1954 and 1990 are described. Described in detail is also the building of the planetarium during the 1991-2001 period and its solemn opening on the 1st February 2001. At the end the short description of the planetarium, the projection device and of the future plans is given.
