A graphite-epoxy optical bench assembly has been designed as an
essential component of a large X-ray Telescope Assembly to be flown in
the second of three High Energy Astronomical Observatory Satellites. The
basic bench requirements, design configuration, in addition to
structural and thermal considerations are presented.
