A survey of the ongoing and planned projects of extraterrestrial research within the German space program is given. Distinction between astronomy and exploration of the solar system, is made. In the scope of the report, the following topics are considered: the national, bilateral and European programs; the astronomy and astrophysics current programs; the ESA infrared observatory; the German x ray satellite; the exploration of the solar system; the aeronomy research; the use of solar probes; and instrument development.
