The geometrical properties of a Maxwellian surface spanned by flow and field lines are used to establish theorems that shed light on the behavior of steady, incompressible, hydromagnetic flows admitting complex-lamellar acceleration and simple geodesic motion. Attention is given to the governing equations, nonholonomic geometric results, the geometrical properties of Maxwellian surfaces, and simple geodesic motion. Lamb and Maxwellian surfaces are noted to be the same in the cases treated.
