Star count data obtained from blue glass copies of the POSS are used to derive the blue extinction, A(B), of the high-latitude bright nebulae LBN 629, LBN 683 and LBN 691. Values up to A(B) = 0.8 mag are found. For these clouds the total column density of hydrogen nuclei, N(H), as derived from the H I and (C-12)O line integrals and as derived from the 100-micron intensity is well correlated to the blue extinction A(B). Thus the commonly used gas-to-dust ratio (Bohlin et al., 1978) is also established for the Galactic cirrus.
