The Ganymede Interior, Surface, and Magnetosphere Observer (GISMO) mission concept is the result of a week-long study during the July 2010 Planetary Science Summer School at JPL. In this poster we will discuss the science goals, proposed spacecraft and mission design of this New Frontiers class Ganymede observer concept. The instrument suite would include a magnetometer, a sounding radar (GaInS), and an integrated camera/IR spectrometer (CamVIR), which would collect data during 14 Ganymede flybys over a nominal period of one year. The major science goals of the proposed mission are to map and characterize Ganymede's magnetic field, surface composition, and geologic processes, with particular emphasis on using magnetic field data to constrain models of the satellite's global interior structure. The GaInS and CamVIR data would provide a link between the satellite's surface composition and its geological features and subsurface processes. This work was carried out as part of the 2010 Planetary Science Summer School, at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under contract to NASA. Government sponsorship acknowledged. Support from JPL Education Office and Team X is also acknowledged.
