We present preliminary results of a blind survey of ? local (0.001 ≤ z ≤ 0.05) galaxies that was undertaken to determine the frequency and nature of galaxies with extended UV (XUV) emission. All galaxies in the sample were imaged by the GALEX Deep Imaging Survey (exposure time ≥ 1.5E4 sec) and lie in the SDSS DR7 footprint. Visual classification of each galaxy in the sample reveals an XUV-disk frequency of up to 16%. We find a surprisingly high frequency of XUV emission around luminous red (NUV-r ≥ 5) and green valley (3 ≤ NUV-r ≤ 5) galaxies. A rough calculation of gas accretion rates suggests that these populations of galaxies are undergoing high rates of cold gas accretion.
