The dynamics of protostar envelopes cooled by molecular hydrogen is studied. The main mechanism limiting the accretion of protostar matter onto the stellar core is photodissociation of H2 when the temperature of the star reaches 9000 K. The dependence of the maximum mass of a star with a primordial chemical composition on the initial abundance of molecular hydrogen is obtained.
