The results of an investigation of the spectroscopic binary darf star BY Dra by means of 30 Å/mm dispersion spectrograms are presented. Measured equivalent widths of emission and some absorption lines do not show periodic changes during the photometric period. A flare has been detected on one of the spectrograms. It appeared on the less luminous component of the system.
