Solidified glass droplets, found in the Priaral area of the Zhamanshin region are considered tektites. The chemical composition of the pieces sharply differs from typical known earth formations, but are similar to the composition of tektites from other locations in the world. Minute crystals of plagioclases, magnetite and pyroxene, typical for impactites from meteorite craters in Nordlingen-Riss (GFR) and Popigay (Eastern Siberia) were found in the Zhamanshin region. The absolute age of the glass-type rocks in the Zhamanshin region is from 8 to 1 million years and less--of comparatively recent origin.
