During the past fifty years some phenomena: cosmic radiation, redshift, radio-galaxies, CPT-invariance were discovered, for which a fully satisfactory explanation is still lacking. The fib theory is an attempt of their quantitative interpretation. The first part of this paper briefly describes the fib theory; the second part discusses its consequences upon astronomical observations made with photographic plates or photocells (photomultipliers, image intensifiers etc.).
