The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope began operations in August, 2008, surveying the full sky every three hours. In preparation for the Fermi Cycle 2 Guest Investigator proposals, the Large Area Telescope (LAT) team will release a list of bright, high-confidence sources, based on the early observations. One of the major improvements of the LAT compared to previous high-energy gamma-ray telescopes is in source localization. We describe the construction of this source list, its characteristics, and its limitations.
