The 'eyes' of the Gamma Ray Observatory (GRO), which will study the
gamma ray sky and classify objects by energy, direction, and temporal
gamma-ray variation, are discussed. The structure and functions of these
instruments, called COMPTEL, ERGET, OSSE, and BATSE, are described.
