Photoelectric photometry of the extended source surrounding AP Librae in the wavelength range from 3466 to 6738 A, using an annular aperture, is presented. The extended source is shown to have a continuum energy distribution similar to that of a redshifted giant elliptical galaxy in the blue-red region. This result is combined with the observation of central source plus extended component to derive the energy distribution of the central source. The central source was found to have a power-law spectrum with a steep slope of -2.32. The identification of the surrounding extended source in AP Lib as an elliptical galaxy is further supported by the fact that the radial surface brightness distribution of the extended source is found to follow the fourth-root-of-distance law, typical of elliptical galaxies. The isophotal visual magnitude is derived as 15.0.
