The Hβ, [O III], Hα, and [N II] expansion velocity fields within the planetary nebulae NGC 40 and NGC 7026 have been obtained from Echelle spectrograms. The expansion of the main part of NGC 40 resembles that of a shell with mean radius 15" and thickness 5". External wisps and condensations (north and south of the nebula) present peculiar velocities. No simple spatial model can be obtained for NGC 7026; the complex gas motion indicates that emissions come from localized material almost symmetrically placed with respect to the central star.
