Aperture synthesis radio observations at 0.610 GHz of the extended H II region S 115 made with the Westerbork Radio Telescope are presented. Considerable structure was detected in the low brightness emission of the nebula. In particular, a shell of ionized gas containing about 650 M and a less regular blob of ionized gas situated on opposite sides of the open cluster Berkeley 90 were detected. This is surrounded by a more extended low density region. From the ionization balance it appears that the nebula is excited by the stars in the open cluster, in particular the O6 star LS III 4612. The region seems to be in an advanced stage of its evolutionary development. The observed structures can be successfully interpreted using the recent champagne flow model.
