In this paper we use the data of coronal holes (CHs) ever since their systematic observations (1970-1995) to analyze their laws of distribution, the evolutionary features of magnetic fields, and their relation with solar cycles. We have also investigated the geomagnetic effect of the CHs. Some valuable results have been obtained. It is especially noted that the equatorial CHs and the polar ones exhibit different rules of evolution. That of the equatorial CHs is basically consistent with solar cycles, while that of the polar CHs is just the opposite.
