Scientific paper

The cavity formed by an erupting supernova due to the evaporation of
grains existing around a progenitor is investigated. A variety of grain
types are considered for both type I and type II supernovae. The
variation with time of the cavity radius due to grain evaporation, and
forces acting on the grains are investigated.
