the European Preferred Parts List (EPPL) is the list of EEE parts for space application to be used as a guideline for the European space projects. It is part of the ECSS system (ECSS-Q-60-01, third level document), and it replaces the ESA PPL. Three years after its first issue, the current status of the EPPL and its future possible developments and improvements are presented. In particular, the evaluation is based on the results of a questionnaire prepared by the Implementation Team of the SCSB and forwarded to the whole European space community to investigate the actual grade of knowledge and usage of the EPPL and the required modifications. The conclusions of such exercise have been submitted to the the SCSB and will form the baseline for the future review of the document ECSS-Q-60-01 (requirements for the selection of parts for the EPPL).
