The equatorial motion of a point in the dynamic model of a magnetic binary system developed by Mavraganis (1978) is investigated analytically, with a focus on the equilibrium points (EPs). The locations of the EPs are determined by classical numerical solution of algebraic systems, using zero-velocity-curve EPs as starting points and the stability of these EPs is evaluated in detail on the basis of variational equations for infinitesimal displacements. Numerical results for parameter values similar to those of the earth-sun system are given in tables.
