We present the results of our spectroscopy of the Herbig Ae/Be type star AB Aur carried out in 1986-1987 and 2008-2009. The absorption component of the Hα line has a negative variable displacement on different dates, reaching -280 km s^{-1}. An additional emission peak superimposed on the violet wing of the line was observed. This peak is rather unstable and can disappear completely on time scales of one day. We also studied profiles of the Hβ line and found a behavior completely similar to that of the Hα line. Such variations on the violet wing can be a result of frequent non-stationary ejections of matter, causing increases in concentration of emitting high-velocity gas.
