The elemental composition of suspended particles from the Yellow River
is similar to those of the loess terraces and the world's average soils.
The contents of Zn, Cu, Ni, Co and Pb in the suspended particles are
higher in the Yangtze River than in the Yellow River, indicating
pollution inputs or the high-side of natural variability.
