The effects of electrostatic corrections to the rate of nuclear reactions between charged particles in an astrophysical plasma are investigated. In this paper, the first in a series of investigations of this type, we apply the molecular dynamics technique to investigate the effect of electrostatic screening in the weak screening limit. The findings are implemented to few stellar nuclear reaction rates in the Sun.
