A method is proposed to determine the systematic corrections to the limb-profile heights in marginal zone charts of the moon. In calculations based on the procedure, it is assumed that the apparent semidiameter of the moon is dependent on the latitudinal libration for the north and south limb-profiles, and on the longitudinal libration for the east and west limb-profiles. An exact statistical correlation was obtained by comparing eccentricity and inclination corrections of the lunar orbit for different limb-profiles. The position of the center of the reference data in the Watts limb correction charts is derived in relation to the ephemeris center of the lunar mass on the basis of meridional observations carried out at the U.S. Naval Observatory. A formula is given for the systematic corrections to the limb-profile heights of the Watts charts. It is shown that applications of the systematic corrections in processing lunar observations may significantly affect lunar motion and rotation parameters, as well as the zero-point degree of declination.
