A comparative analysis of the effect of different types of redistribution functions (RFs) on the Na I and Mg I resonance line profiles is performed. It is shown that partial frequency redistribution (PFR) influences the center-to-limb variations on only the D Na line's central intensities, shifting them down on the intensity scale. Preferable results are yielded by the HSRA model as compared to the VAL-80 C. Use of R(II-A) results in an additional downscaling of the center-to-limb dependence by about 1 percent (when D-line central intensities are 4-7 percent). For the PFR case the Mg I 285.2 nm line has inverse peaks near about 0.01, in accordance with observed profiles. For full frequency redistribution, no emission peaks were detected.
