Isopycnic maps of the free atmosphere over the USSR are constructed, based on data from an aeroclimatic reference book. The inclinations of the isopycnic surfaces are computed, and the effects of mean inclination on astronomical refraction are estimated. The azimuths of the mean inclinations of isopycnic surfaces over Soviet Central Asia for January and July are compared in a table.
