The screen effect is investigated by solving the diffraction problem involving the excitation of a conducting disk by a traveling-wave ring current. Integral equations with respect to projections of the surface current are derived and solved. Results of calculations (performed using a FORTRAN program based on an iterative algorithm) of the surface current and directivity characteristics are given in the case when the ring length is equal to the wavelength.
