It is shown that the collapse of the trade wind and the eastward current of the ocean are the significant factors which induce the interannual variation in LOD and the warming up of sea water in the eastern equatorial Pacific. The dynamical analysis shows that the atmospheric anomaly contributes 46.8% to the observed amplitude in interannual variation of LOD and the oceanic current makes 18.6% of that. This substantiates that it is possible to make prediction of the El Nino Event by monitoring the interannual variation in LOD.
