A micrometeorite experiment onboard a solar probe expected to approach the sun to 0.3 AU is described whose aim was to measure the mass, velocity, direction, and the chemical composition and charge of meteoritic dust. The particles were detected from the plasma generated by impact on a louver-type target. The design and principles of operation of the two sensors and their arrangement at different angles to the spin axis of the probe are discussed, along with the interpretation of the data measured.
