Gamma spectroscopy was used to determine the content of certain cosmogenic and natural radioisotopes in Luna-24 soil samples from the Sea of Crises; ten soil samples obtained from depths of 80 to 114 cm were tested. Experimental data on the content of cosmogenic nuclides in the samples are compared with theoretical depth distributions and proton-synchrotron simulation results. The relatively high radioactivity of the cosmogenic nuclides is explained by the filtering of the finely dispersed fraction of the upper regolith down to layers below 73 cm.
